What is a Freelance Visa in Dubai?

In Dubai and across the UAE, several free zones provide Indian citizens with freelance permits. Obtaining a freelance permit does not necessarily require sponsorship or employment by any company in the UAE.

It serves as a work permit specifically designed for freelancers in the UAE. Indians can apply for a freelance license or permit to engage in full-time freelancing in Dubai. Various authorities within the free zones, such as the  "Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development" , issue freelance licenses.

Once you have obtained the freelance permit, you can proceed to apply for the Dubai freelance visa.

The Dubai freelance visa represents a type of UAE residency, allowing you to live and work with your family members in the UAE for a duration ranging from 1 to 5 years.

Freelance permits are available for UAE nationals, citizens, residents, and non-residents.
